Hidden River saw a need nearly 20 years ago for a competition in full-length plays, since so few were available. The competitions seemed focused almost exclusively on short plays, with very little opportunity for playwrights writing full-length scripts. So, we established our Hidden River Arts Playwrighting Award. Then, in response to the many requests we received, we expanded our competition to include full-length musical scripts (and the recorded music that accompanied them).
We hope to soon include a screenplay award – both a full-length screenplay and a short film script. So, please bookmark our site for all future announcements. We also would love to hear from those of you who write screenplays: What kind of support would serve you best?
